Competition Details
In an effort to provide a positive, safe and professional competition, CCE & DCE have implemented the following rules and regulations.
Important: Inclement Weather Policy
Please be aware that all CCE/DCE events we go on as scheduled regardless of weather conditions. It will be the responsibility of participants to monitor weather conditions for events and make appropriate arrangements to arrive on schedule. We can make no provisions or exceptions in performance times for late arrivals. In addition no refunds or credits will be given for any CCE event. Please make every effort to provide alternate travel arrangements for your organization due to changes in weather forecasts. We do not want you to miss participating in our events but these rules must be enforced in fairness to all teams.
CCE/DCE shall not be liable for failure or other delay in performance of its obligations under any agreement to the extent such failure or delay is due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including, without limitation, acts of God, acts of public enemy, fires, floods, war, civil disturbance, participation, sabotage, lock-outs, labor disputes, acts of any governmental or quasi governmental authority, theme park, or any other force majeure.
Safety
I understand that competitive cheerleading or dance is an activity that presents the possibility of injury. As a coach who understands these risks, my athletes have received proper training.
I understand all risk and will always place more emphasis on the safety of my athletes than on competitiveness. I will follow all CCE, DCE, USASF, NFHS and other posted CCE rules and regulations.
I understand that any violation of these rules and regulations could result in a penalty point deduction or disqualification.
Proof of Age/Grade
I will abide by the age/ grade requirements for all divisions that my teams are competing in. I understand that, upon request, I will be required to provide age verification (birth certificate or passport) any time a violation is reported. Falsifying age and/or grade verification will result in disqualification from competition.
Music
I will bring 2 quality recorded CDs. I will provide a representative to run music at the music station. * Music systems are different; therefore, coaches are strongly advised to create routines that finish at least 5 seconds before the maximum time limit in order to avoid time limit penalties. If a mistake is made because of CCE personnel or sound system failure, the team will be allowed to perform again from the point in the routine where the mistake was made.
Performance Surface
Cheer teams will perform on a 54’ x 42’ spring floor.
Exception: The Florida Invitational Youth/Rec Championship, cheerleaders will compete on a 54’ x 42’ foam floor.
Dance teams will perform on a 54’ x 42’ spring floor unless otherwise noted on event page.
Exception: The Florida Invitational Youth/Rec Championship, dancers will compete on a 54’ x 42’ foam floor.
I will not aid, or allow my coaches, parents or other cheerleaders to aid in the routine of Level 2-6 teams.
Spotters
CCE policy is to not provide spotters for their events. We believe that assigned spotters would not be familiar with routines and participants techniques, causing a possible safety issue. CCE does allow each organization to decide if they wish to provide their own spotters at our competitions
Spotter Requirements
Spotters must be employed and insured by gym, school or program. Spotters must be qualified and trained by their gym or school & must be familiar with the team routine.
Spotters may not wear body jewelry or spacers during spotting.
Routine spotters are there to help ‘catch’ falls and/or mistakes, not to assist or save skills. Routine spotters may only be used for stunts, pyramids and/or basket tosses. Spotting of tumbling is prohibited and will result in a .5 deduction for each occurrence.
Flagrant contact by a routine spotter that assists a stunt, toss or pyramid may result in a .5 deduction for each occurrence. Point deduction is at the sole discretion of the judges. The decision of the judges is FINAL.
Routine spotters must dress differently than the team so they are not mistaken for participants.
Routine spotters are for safety purposes only and are not to engage in excessive behavior before, during or after the performance, doing this will result in a 1 point deduction. Routine spotters should enter the stage behind their team and exit immediately ahead of their team.
We encourages the use of routine spotters, however, they are not required. Use your best judgment as to whether routine spotters are needed for your routine and be sure you are in compliance with your spotter liability form.
Routine spotters should look presentable. Remember, the overall appearance of your team and their performance is important. Routine spotters should appear “neat and orderly” in order to minimize distraction.
Spotters must be at least 18 years of age.
Routine spotters should make every attempt to be ‘inconspicuous’ during the routine. Remember, touching the skill WILL result in a point deduction. It is best to be present for safety reasons, but, unless there is a fall, not do anything that will appear to help or assist with the stunt.
Routine spotters should be trained to know proper spotting technique. Routine spotters should know the routine(s), so that spotting is conducted as safely as possible.
Code of Conduct
CCE/DCE reserves the right to assess a 10-point penalty for un-sportsman like or unsafe conduct. This includes coaches, athletes and fans.
My staff and fans will sit in the designated area & not talk to judges.
At all times, I will support the results of the competition as I am a role model for my program.
I will promote fairness and demonstrate appropriate sportsmanship through the competition, as well as require all persons affiliated with my program to conduct themselves with the same appropriate sportsmanship.
Injuries
If an athlete is injured on the practice mat or the performance floor, the team will be given up to 30 minutes or until right before their level awards ceremony, which ever comes first, to regroup before they are required to perform.
I will accept all judges’ decisions as final and not question the integrity of said judges.
By registering for a CCE or DCE Championship I understand and agree to the above terms and information.
